“I’ve become skeptical of the unwritten rule that just because a boy and a girl appear in the same feature, a romance must insue. Rather, I want to portray a slightly different relationship, one where the two mentally inspire eachother to live-if I am able to, then perhaps I’ll be closer to portraying a true expression of love.” -hayao miyazaki
TBT: Johnny Depp, 10 years ago, through the lens of Terry Richardson, for the November issue of the 2011 Vanity Fair Magazine.
In this magazine, Johnny took some free hours from filming in London in order to give an interview for Nick Tosches (who is also Jack Depp’s godfather) as well some fun and a little chat between old friends, along talk about “The Rum Diary”.
> Curiosities:
Interestingly, although the magazine with the interview and photoshoot were
released in November, none of that really happened on that month, and neither
close.
During the interview, was revealed that Johnny was filming “Dark
Shadows”, in London, which finished in the end of September. So it probably happened around that time.
Nick also wanted to make a photoshoot on the same day of the interview, but
Johnny, who was already hours late for the meeting and during the interview you can see that he shows and hides
signs of tiredness, prefered to make it another day. The photoshoot was only realized days later at the Pinewood
Studios, where the movie was being filming.
Ps. The last 4 photos below the magazine covers are behind the scenes photos that were featured on the magazine.
